Election of Dhaka Journalist Union is underway in a festive atmosphere at the National Press Club.

Election of Dhaka Journalist Union (DUJ) is underway in a festive atmosphere at the National Press Club. This is the first election on the voter list. In this election, 3,160 voters will exercise their franchise.

The polls, which start at 8 am on Saturday (29th February ), will continue till 5 pm without any break.

Meanwhile, the National Press Club premises around this election have become the face of journalists. There are 89 candidates in the 5 panel in the election. This is the highest candidate in the history of the DUJ.

There are 5 presidential candidates in the elections. They are Abu Jafar Surya, SM Mosharraf Hossain, Quddus Afrid, Sohail Haider Chowdhury, Nasima Akhter Soma. The vice-presidential candidate is competing with 5. They are Atikur Rahman Chowdhury, MA Quddus, Khandaker Mozammel Haque, Feroz Alam Milon, Md. Musharraf Hossain.

There are a total of 8 candidates for the post of general secretary. They are Aktar Hossain, Ashish Kumar Sen, Umul Wara Sweetie, Zahirul Islam, Md. Mehdi Hasan, Md. Shahjahan Mia, Sajjad Alam Khan Tapu, Syed Shukkur Ali Shubh. There are 5 candidates for joint secretary position. Khairul Alam, Moniruzzaman Ujjal, Mohiuddin Quader, Manik Lal Ghosh, Rafiq Ahmed.

There are 4 candidates for the post of treasurer. Ashraful Islam, Jaglul Kabir Nasir, Rezaul Karim, Shahadat Rana.

4 candidates have been nominated for the post of organizational secretary. A Jihadur Rahman Jihad, Ghulam Mujtaba Dhruv, Matlu Mallick, Mamun Abedin, Shafiq Rahman.

5 candidates have been nominated for the post of Publicity Secretary. Asaduzzaman, AKM Obaidur Rahman, M Shahjahan, Kaiser Hasan.

Five candidates have been nominated for the post of Sports and Cultural Secretary. Dulal Khan, Fazlul Haque Babu, Mohiuddin Palash, Mostafa Kamal Suman Mostafa, Md. Sajedul Islam Raju.

Five candidates have been nominated for the post of Secretary of Public Welfare. M Zahirul Islam, Zahida Parvez Chhanda, Samirin Roy, Sohali Chowdhury, Rajiv Ud Daulah Chowdhury.

4 candidates have been nominated for office secretary. Amanullah Aman, M Saif Ali, Jannatul Ferdous Chowdhury, Md. Mostafizur Rahman.

In addition, there are 39 members competing for the post of executive member.
