The deputy commissioner (DC) of Kurigram, who was OSD, was removed from his home by a journalist. Four officials, including Sultana Parveen, filed a departmental case. The Public Administration Ministry has also given notice of their reasons.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said on Thursday that four persons, including DCC, were brought to public administration. They have been made OSD. They have payroll off when they have OSD. There have been departmental cases against them. There will also be a case from (Kurigram).
Farhad Hossain said they would then have to face a hearing like the Deputy Commissioner of Jamalpur (Women Scandal). Necessary action will be taken against them according to the fault level and service rules.
Public administration officials said that on 23th March, four officers were charged in departmental cases.
Four people, including DC Sultana Parveen, were made public OSD on 13th March in connection with the murder of Kurigram journalist Ariful Islam at midnight on 15th March and given a one-year jail term by a mobile court. The other three officers are Assistant Secretary Nazim Uddin, Rintu Bikash Chakma and SM Rahatul Islam.
The Minister of State for Public Administration also said that action will be taken after the hearing. Strict action will be taken against two or three people, including Nazimuddin. After our investigation, I will also ask the ACC to investigate their corruption.
He said Nazimuddin also had trouble in Ukhia. The fact that a small officer has earned millions by joining, is not acceptable.
