Five people were died when the truck overturned.

Five people were killed when a cement-loaded truck overturned in Tangail this morning. Eleven more were injured at the time.

The accident took place at Kandila in Sadar upazila on the Dhaka-Tangail highway around 6am on Saturday morning. The identity of the casualties was not immediately known.

Confirming the incident, Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Elanga (Madhupur) Highway Police Ferry, said, "The truck from Dhaka was heading towards Bogra with cement and some passengers. On reaching the Kandila area, the truck lost control and fell into a ditch along the road. Five people were killed and eleven were injured.

The injured were then taken to Tangail General Hospital, the OC said.

He added, "It is believed that the north of the home of the casualties is North Bengal. They were returning home because of Corona. We are trying to identify the casualties. ”

In-charge of the Tangail Sadar police outpost Mosharraf Hossain said the truck was recovered from the accident. The bodies of the deceased were placed in the morgue of the General Hospital.
