The government has extended its decision to halt the ongoing mass transit across the country till 11th April to tackle the situation caused by the coronavirus. However, transportation of goods, emergency services, energy, medicines, decomposition and relief transportation will be exempt.
The decision was made in a notification sent to the Department of Roads and Highways on Saturday (4th April). There, it is stated that no passenger transport of any kind can be made on freight vehicles.
Earlier, mass transit was announced across the country from 26th March to 4th April to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
