The administration has locked down eight houses and three shops in Chittagong's Halishahar, Sagarika and Sitakunda following the identification 3 people of the Corona virus.
The houses and shops were locked down on Wednesday night (8th April).
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (City SB) Abdul Varish said that one houses were locked down in Halishahar Shapala residential area and one in Sagarika area of Pahartali.
He said people were coming to the scene from the civil surgeon's office. If they think that more homes in these neighborhoods need to be locked down, then the police will take action.
Sitakunda Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Milton Roy said six houses and five shops were locked down in the North Market Godown Road area of ward no 1 of the municipality on the basis of the identification of a corona virus in the body of a person in Sitakunda.
No one has been asked to leave the house and the shop is closed. He said the police had been deployed there.
