A youth named Zafar Alam (30) was killed in Teknaf shootings in Cox's Bazar. Two lakh pistols, arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.

The incident took place on Saturday (18th April ) at Golachar Nafnad border area of ​​Shahpirdeep upazila at midnight. BGB claims - Zafar Alam is a drug dealer killed. He is the son of the late Jebir Mulluk of Nayapara area of ​​Sabrang union of Teknaf upazila.

Teknaf 2 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Md. Faisal Hassan Khan said a BGB team was stationed in the area around 11:30 pm on Saturday night on the information that a large shipment of drugs was entering the area through Golachar Nafondi border area.

In the darkness of the night, the BGB had challenged them by stopping 4-5 people from crossing the Myanmar waters and entering the Bangladesh border.

The BGB chased them when the drug dealers tried to jump off the boat. Seeing the situation, the drug dealers opened fire on BGB members. At that time, the BGB also opened fire in self-defense.

Shortly after both sides stopped being shot, BGB members rescued him and took him to hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead.

BGB captain Faisal Hassan Khan told hat two lakh pieces of Yaba, a locally made weapon and a round cartridge were recovered from the scene. A separate case is being filed in this case.
