In jail, Tinu will select 'weapon' from Chawkbazar ward.

Nur Mostafa Tinu, a prominent 'terrorist' from the Chawkbazar area, has submitted his nomination form as an independent candidate from Chowkbazar ward no 16. Tinu has become a candidate for the Awami League rebel.

Nur Mostafa Tinu, who was arrested in the jail with weapons at the hands of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), collected his nomination form. Nur Mostafa Tinu's wife submitted the nomination form on Thursday (26th February), the last day of filing the nomination form.

Noor Mostafa Tinu introduced himself as the president of the Chowkbazar Ward Chhatra League. Recently, he was introducing himself as a Metropolitan Jubo League leader.

A group of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) arrested Nur Mostafa Tinu from the city's Chawkbazar area on 22th September last year. A foreign shotgun and a round of bullets were recovered after a search of his home and business establishment.

He was handed over to Panchlaish police station after he filed a case under the Arms Act against Noor Mostafa Tinu. Nur Mostafa Tinu has been in jail since being arrested by RAB.

According to police sources, police arrested Tinu along with a state-of-the-art Chinese AK-22 rifle and 1 magazine from the Golpahar intersection. Besides, in the case of Chandgaon police station in 2012, a case was registered against him under the Explosive Act.

Tinu's younger brother Nurul Alam Shipu was arrested by the Panchlaish Police Station on 15th February  on a charge of snatching Tk 5 lakh from a businessman in Catalganj. In court, Shipu confessed to the crime in the case of money laundering and also gave a statement under section 164. Shinpur demanded release of Shinur, then the people of Tinur organized the program around the police station.

It is alleged that Tinu's forces were also involved in the robbery of Tk 6 lakh from Muradpur Bank on 12th October of the same year. In addition, Tinu forces launched a massive vandalism at the Alif Plaza at Telepatti road on Kapasgola road demanding money. The owner of the market sued Tinu for the incident.
