Police have arrested nineteen gamblers from a room in Halishahar police station.

They are in the gambling room every morning from midnight to midnight, police said. They were detained on Saturday (29th February ) on the side of Sabbath Road at around 1:30 am.

The detainees are - Md. Abu Taher (35), Md. Hasan (27), Md. Altaf Hossain (33), Md. Badsha (30), Nurul Karim (30), Md. Zahir Uddin (48), Md. Faisal (24), Md. Jahangir (40), Abdus Salam (38), Md. Kibria (30), Masudur Rahman (35), Md. Jabed Hossain (33), Md. Kamrul Islam(29), Md. Tofail (27), Md. Sohag( 24), Md. Robin( 27), Md. Hanif (34), Md. Farooq( 29), and Md. Bakhtiar Hossain (31). All of them are residents of different areas under Halishahar police station.

Halisohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident. They all live in different areas of Halishahar.

They are all professional gamblers. For a long time the eyes of the police had been sitting and gambling with their seats. Preparations are underway to file a case against them.
