Cricket off indefinitely

The Corona virus has caused panic all over the world. Which is not excluded. Europe's top five football leagues have already been suspended. All international series has been suspended in cricket. Until the next announcement, Bangladesh will not set up any of the Cricket Board's recognized tournaments or playgrounds.

BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papan made the news at a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur this afternoon.

At the press conference, Papan said, "As you all know, what is happening all over the world due to coronavirus, it is also being worked on in Bangladesh. That is why sports are closed everywhere. We are closed here too. '

He added, "We closed down especially after the first round of the Premier League. Then we decided that we wait two days, after observing the situation and then there is no decision. So, (postponing the second round) that was an immediate decision. Now we have taken all the decisions into consideration. ”

Referring to the closure of all forms of cricket, the BCB president said, "We have seen that a lot of things are changing now, the players' wishes are not the same." There are also some differences. So in all respects, we have come to the conclusion that all forms of cricket in the country are closed, suspended. Until the next announcement, we cannot say anything before the situation improves. We will announce a new schedule when the situation changes. "

Earlier, the first round of the DPL was played on 15th March and 16th March. The second round was scheduled to be held on 18th March and 19th March.

At an emergency meeting of the sports ministry, the government announced that all domestic games under Bangladesh would be suspended until 31th March. However, cricket and football are not under the Ministry of Sport but have been asked to declare the league closed separately as per the government's directive.
