Mashrafee bin Mortaza will captain Zimbabwe in the one-day series. President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hasan Papan told reporters after meeting with Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque and Tamim Iqbal at Mirpur Sherbangla Stadium on Wednesday (19th February ). He will also be named the next one-day captain within a month.

The BCB president said a decision had been made that this would be the last series of captain Mashrafe. There is no rush for him. The pricey players say without planning, this is his last series. If Mashrafe makes such a decision, he will be sent off. The Zimbabwe series will be decided after the new one-day captain.

He said Zimbabwe is better than Bangladesh team. It will not be easy to win against them. Test loss against Afghanistan has been the worst.

Regarding the recent performance of the team, Nazmul Hasan Papan said that it is not known who is taking the decision on the team. To confirm the accountability of the team management, the marriage of the team will have to be nosedived again. Detailed discussion has been held with Tamim, Mushfiq and Mominul. The coach wants to try some new boys, especially the pacers.

The ODI series against Zimbabwe will be played in Sylhet from 1 March to 6 March. Earlier, Bangladesh and tour Zimbabwe will play a Test and a three-match T20 series later.
