Box Blast: Do your duty carefully - CMP

Although a traffic signal box was reported to have exploded at a traffic police box in the city's number two Gate area, police suspect it was a catastrophe.

The explosives were recovered from the spot. However, police are waiting for the special blast specialist team of Dhaka to confirm this.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (North) Vijay Basak said police were investigating the explosion in the traffic box. Whether it is destructive or something else, it is being investigated. Specialist team is coming from Dhaka. They will come and check it out.

The blast site. A police officer at the CMP said that it was believed to be from a road signal lamp machine after the explosion in the police box. The explosives were recovered from the spot.

On Friday (28th February), a traffic police box exploded in the number two Gate area. At least five people, including two policemen, were injured.

Among the injured are: Traffic Sergeant Arafat Hossain Bhuiyan, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI). Atauddin, two local youths Zahid bin Jahangir and Md. Sumon. Among them, 8 percent of Sergeant Arafat's body was burned, doctors said.

Security has been strengthened in the city since the explosion. The CMP has been asked to carry out the duties of police officers responsible for the police stations, police stations and grounds.
