The information was confirmed by media wing member of the BNP chairperson Shairul Kabir Khan on Sunday (29th March).

He said that on the day of Begum Zia's release, on 25th March, her personal secretary Abdus Sattar gave a letter to the police chief (IGP). Copies of the letter were also forwarded to the DMP Commissioner and Additional IGP.
